SoftwareOne recognized as SAM Managed Services leader
Stans, 29 January 2026
Stans - SoftwareOne from the canton of Nidwalden has been named a leader in the inaugural "IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Software Asset Management (SAM) Managed Services 2025–2026 Vendor Assessment" report. The study evaluates leading global providers of SAM services.
The IT and software service provider SoftwareOne has secured a leading position in the IDC MarketScape Report, according to a statement. The International Data Corporation (IDC) from Needham in Massachusetts highlighted the Swiss company's global presence in IT asset management (ITAM), tooling-agnostic delivery model, and integrated approach that combines software asset management, FinOps, SaaS management, and ESG/GreenOps.
IDC also recognized SoftwareOne's use of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven automation and standardized data models, which enable the company to achieve consistent analysis and optimization outcomes. The study identified further strengths in the company’s global delivery network, multilingual service centers, and comprehensive support throughout the entire software lifecycle – from procurement and deployment to optimization and retirement. According to the statement, this is reflected in high customer satisfaction with the quality and responsiveness of the company’s services, as well as proactive consulting.
“Being recognized as a Leader in this IDC MarketScape is a strong validation of the trust our clients place in us,” SoftwareOne Co-CEO Raphael Erb is quoted as saying. “We help organizations navigate complexity and make smarter technology decisions with confidence.”
According to IDC, the study was prompted by increasing complexity in software licensing, SaaS portfolios, and hybrid cloud environments. As a result, demand is rising for managed service partners that offer end-to-end governance, scalable global models, AI-driven optimization, and proactive audit readiness support, it writes. IDC evaluated 11 global providers on their current capabilities and future strategies. ce/ja
