Rosen employees plant trees in Colombia
Stans, 25 August 2025
Stans/Bogota - Staff from the Colombian branch of the technology firm Rosen, which is headquartered in Stans, have planted 300 native sapling trees in El Tanque nature reserve. The activity was organized in collaboration with the municipality of Cota as part of an initiative aimed at protecting nature in the region.
A total of 15 employees from Rosen Colombia have planted around 300 native tree saplings in El Tanque, a nature reserve located in the municipality of Cota on the outskirts of Bogotá. Planting these trees contributed to the ecological restoration of the area and helped to foster a strengthened sense of community and cooperation among those taking part in the initiative, according to a press release. The objective was to leave a green footprint in the area, to promote specific measures aimed at protecting ecosystems and to combat climate change, according to the Rosen Group, a technology company based in Stans in the Swiss canton of Nidwalden.
Planting native trees offers numerous ecological and social benefits. For example, a young tree absorbs between 10 and 30 kilograms of carbon dioxide per annum, while the 300 planted trees can bind around 9 tons of CO2 annually during their growth phase. The planted trees will also play their part in protecting water sources and preventing soil erosion, thereby improving soil quality. Local wildlife is also attracted to native tree species. The trees can also benefit the mental and physical health of surrounding communities, as they promote relaxation and a connection with nature, as the press release explains.
The initiative was carried out in conjunction with the municipality of Cota as part of a joint strategy with the aim of protecting the region’s natural resources. This reflects the commitment of Rosen Colombia to protecting the environment and building a sustainable future.
