Pilatus plans to modernize headquarters in Stans

Stans - The aircraft manufacturer Pilatus is planning to comprehensively modernize its headquarters in Stans in the canton of Nidwalden. The new buildings will focus on energy efficiency and sustainability, with no extension of the site required. On 26 November, the people of Stans will be invited to vote on the Land Use Plan.
The aircraft manufacturer Pilatus is planning to modernize its headquarters in Stans. According to the relevant press release, the in part outdated and energy-inefficient buildings will be comprehensively modernized. Additionally, the production and administration areas will be consolidated with new buildings. The plans have been carefully aligned with the topography and local landscape. Vertical construction will facilitate better use of the land available, while buildings will not exceed the respective heights of 32, 36 and 56 meters.
The company explains that the buildings will be modernized in accordance with the principles of sustainability and meet international standards (LEED). Materials will include recycled concrete and local timber. All buildings are subject to high energy standards. Large-scale photovoltaic systems will support the company’s own power production.
With this comprehensive modernization, Pilatus is showing its commitment to the site in Stans and the wellbeing of its 2,500 employees. It will also encourage the use of environmentally friendly public transport with financial contributions of up to 1,000 Swiss francs a year, as the press release reports.
On 26 November, the people of Stans will be invited to vote on an amendment to the Land Use Plan. ce/ww
