Pilatus gives 2,000th PC-12 aircraft to long-standing US client 15. May 2023

Stans/Portsmouth - The plane manufacturer Pilatus has presented its 2,000th PC-12 aircraft to an American client. PlaneSense received its first aircraft of this model from Pilatus in 1995. PlaneSense specializes in private and business flights with the PC-12.

Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. with headquarters in Stans in the canton of Nidwalden has held a ceremony to present its 2,000th PC-12 aircraft to the American airline PlaneSense, headquartered in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. According to a press release, PlaneSense is receiving the anniversary aircraft as thanks for its long-standing loyalty.

PlaneSense is reported to have purchased its first PC-12 aircraft in 1995. This was the 20th aircraft of this series built by Pilatus. Today, PlaneSense operates its private and business flights with 43 PC-12s from Stans. PlaneSense also uses eleven PC-24 aircraft.

George Antoniadis, Founder, President and CEO of PlaneSense, commented: “This unique aircraft constitutes the backbone of our operation and has been an important part of the success of the PlaneSense program.”

According to the information provided, there are more than 70 PC-12s in the air at any one time. They are used for business trips, transport flights, and ambulance and emergency operations. Pilatus uses the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6 engine, which can be operated using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and makes it one of the safest single-engine aircraft. The most recent model, the PC-12 NGX, is said to be state of the art.
