Stans, 12 November 2025
Ennetbürgen - Aircraft interior designer Aerolite has developed a robust and liquid-tight cabin floor for the PILATUS PC-12 aircraft. The floor is designed for heavy duty applications such as in the transport of patients, freight and heavy goods, for example.
The new Aerolite Floor STC cabin floor for the PC-12 turboprop aircraft from PILATUS has been designed for a great variety of heav- duty operations, as was reported in a press release. Aerolite specializes in the development, production and installation of interior fittings for rescue helicopters and ambulance aircraft and is based in Ennetbürgen in the canton of Nidwalden. Aerolite states that the Floor STC panels replace the OEM panels and are approved according to the specifications of the EASA and FA aviation authorities. They are reportedly manufactured at Aerolite in collaboration with local partners in Switzerland.
The Pilatus PC-12 business aircraft from the manufacturer based in Stans in the canton of Nidwalden is in operation worldwide and rated as a reliable turboprop aircraft. According to Aerolite, the new cabin floor developed for this aircraft can be installed in models PC-12/47G and PC-12 Pro from serial number 3001.
The product description states that a conversion kit consists of 14 panels each, including fasteners. The floor panels are made of hard anodized 7075 aluminum with an integrated, durable and easy-to-clean anti-slip surface and flexible edge sealing. The total weight is 35.2 kilograms, the maximum area load is 600 kilograms per square meter, and the maximum point load is 130 kilograms per square centimeter. Access to the under floor area for maintenance is still guaranteed. If necessary, the original floor can reportedly be reinstalled, which ensures the aircraft retains its value.
“At Pilatus we all value our long-standing partnership with Aerolite,” said Flavia Vianna from Pilatus. As Director Product Management at Pilatus Aircraft Ltd., she highlights that Aerolite played a key role in the development of numerous emergency medical interior solutions for the PC-24 and also for the PC-12 Aircraft. Flavia Vianna adds that “expertise and collaborative spirit consistently contributed to the high standards we set for our products. We look forward to continuing this successful Journey together”.
Aerolite is one of the exhibitors in the SWISS Pavilion at the Dubai Air Show and will be showcasing a panel sample of this new cabin floor. The aerospace trade fair will take place in Dubai from 17 to 21 November. ce/yvh
